About this show Before the 2025 sailing season around the Great Lakes ends, we thought about catching up with some really cool story lines. First, Inside Great Lakes Sailing spent a few moments chatting with an up-and-coming sail racer Michael Kirkman, who recently participated in the 2025 US Sailing Match Race Championships in Chicago as part of the fifth place finishing Ryan Seago's crew. The recent Boston College graduate, who won the 2024 NCAA Match Racing Championships, did tell us about his college experience and a bit about skippering in the 2025 2025 J70 Corinthian Championships with a rather unusual crew. We will let Michael explain. Our resident sailing expert Wally Cross visits after a trip to the Annapolis Boat show and Lake St. Clair Sailors Network originator Ben Wixson stops buy to chat about the communications of the local sailing world. The conversation was more about two passionate sailors, between Wixson and Inside Great Lakes Sailing, than maybe an internet interview, but maybe that's the point of the blog, the sharing of ideas, information, opinions and a recognition that this sport is just different.
